Tumblr, let’s talk food…

Ever since I moved and went from this kitchen:

(Yes, that’s the whole thing. Ahh, Manhattan.)

to this one:

(Cabinet space! A full-sized oven! Dishwasher! What.)

I’ve (understandably) felt the urge to cook more. So much so that I decided to cook full-on meals twice a week from here on out.

That of course went to shit due to weddings, Fire Island, another work trip to Israel, LA, a bachelorette party in Miami, a bridal shower, etc. And that’s just the next six weeks. Yep.

Anyhow, I have been cooking more. And sometimes I take pictures! Last week, for instance, I made the Pioneer Woman’s favorite salad ever (recipe linked). This recipe is a bit… odd, like, when I sent it to the boy and said, “dinner!” he was all, “um, do you have bread and peanut butter… just in case?” So while purchasing cabbage, jalapenos, etc. at the store, I begrudgingly got a loaf of bread. Which, I’m proud to say, went un-used!

Because the salad. Was amazeballs.

I edited the receipe a bit, which is the brilliant thing about this one; it’s totally customizable. I don’t like spinach (the horrors!) so I left it out. You could also add… I think jicama could be an excellent addition.

Anyhow, I did take a few pictures:

The prep took TWO bowls. This recipe will apparently feed 900 people, so maybe pare it back a bit.

The dressing was DELICIOUS. I would eat this stuff on, like, anything. Mmmm.

Annnd the finished product! Delightful, colorful, and suuuper tasty. This salad is relatively easy and suuuper delish.

Also delish were the homemade flour tortillas we made this weekend. I diiiie. Unfortunately, I was so busy STUFFING MY FACE that I completely forgot to take pictures. Whoops. But seriously, y’all, MAKE THESE TORTILLAS. Or come over and I’ll make them for you. I need someone to eat all this food, after all.
