I saw a friend this weekend I haven’t seen much recently and he asked if I’m ok… said my tumblings lately have seemed “sad” and “stressed.” Never one to needlessly worry friends, I told him I’m ok, it’s just been a fairly stressful month between the apartment hunt and the work things. So! Here are five random things from this Monday evening. Some good, some eh, all harmless, and all where I am rightthissecond:
1. Work. Is crazy. I’ve been so. busy. And I have to work this weekend. It’s a good thing, being this busy, but there has been some stress and some exhaustion and some occasional rage, but it will all work out, right?
2. The apartment hunt is in limbo. Waiting to hear about a certain place, don’t want to jinx it by planning or packing or buying things and too busy to pack anyhow (except right now, but hi, I worked all day). So… limbo.
3. Speaking of jinxes, here’s a story: The Boy wholeheartedly believes in jinxes while I do not. Because of this, I often say things like, “wow, there is no traffic today!” and am met with a quick AND SERIOUS shush. It is then that I roll my eyes exaggeratedly and the traffic remains pleasant, proving I am unjinxable. Every. time. Until last week. It was a random weekday morning and we were on the 1 train headed downtown. As soon as we got into the train, I mentioned it was unusually quiet. Like, eerily so. We pulled into the next stop and (I WOULD NOT LIE TO YOU) a MARIACHI BAND got on the train and started to play. Jinx - 1, Lemon - 0.
4. The fact that a 50-degree February makes me this happy and makes winter this much better means I definitely need to move somewhere warmer immediately. Except I don’t want to move again anytime soon…
5. College roomie/BFF Ashley started Dexter season one right now and I am way too excited. Like, I want to watch the first season over just to relive it. And I’d like to time her season four watching with her potentially impending visit, just so we can experience it together. Annnnd I’m crazy.
