65% New Yorker. 100% Texan. Likes: baking, puppies, beauty products, great meals, and the color yellow. Dislikes: poor grammar, Nutella, name-droppers, mushrooms, canned corn, and one-uppers. My job has nothing to do with social media or journalism. And yes, I use the Oxford comma. If you'd like to inquire, try lizlemon.tumblr.com/ask or lizlemonnn at gmail dot com.
losingweightinthecity asked: Tag, you’re it! Here are the rules: Each tagged person must post ten things about themselves. You have to choose and tag ten people. Go to their blogs and tell them you tagged them.
Oh heyyyy, late to the game on this one. So late that I think everyone else has already done this but if not, consider yourself tagged.
1. Approximately 90% of the posts I write in my head are never published here and the primary reason for that is laziness. The secondary reason is I don’t like reading things I write so I often return to a post to finish it and cringe when I read over it and delete the entire thing. Posts included in this that you’ll likely never read? A 30th birthday post and some things I’ve learned in the last 30 years, why it’s not amazing to be skinny and we should just stop talking about people’s weight, several funny recollections of my weekends/weeks/experiences, posts about how much I love my family/friends/The Boy, and posts about mundane things, like my apartment. Womp womp slash you’re welcome for the personal censorship. :)
3. I don’t do this to be a total contrarian, but I usually root for the unintended character. Like in Sweet Home Alabama, I wanted her to end up with Patrick Dempsey. And I always wanted Rory to end up with Logan.
4. Like many of you, based on this thing, I never wear my hair up unless I’m working out. When I was 8, I was flipping through some of my parent’s pictures of our swim team banquet. I was wondering why we had so many pictures of this one little boy when it hit me. And there you have it. Buy-bye pony tails.
5. My parents are very uninvolved in my life. Because of this, I think a lot of people mistakenly get the impression my family isn’t important to me, which couldn’t be farther from the truth. Those of you who have overzealous parents should take note: it’s no better on the other side. I’m hoping 2012 is the year I make peace with this.
6. I eat candy almost every day. Sugar is undoubtedly my greatest addiction.
7. I am like, whoa-serious about my career. There was a point in my life when I thought I’d value success from a career standpoint over all else. While that’s not entirely true anymore (I REALLY want a puppy), I sincerely value the work I do (which is in no way saving the world, it wouldn’t kill me to maintain that perspective) and I’m proud of it.
8. Speaking of pride, I think nothing in my life makes me happier than knowing my parents are proud of the person I am. Knowing that they can (and do) brag about me is worth everything.
9. I love weddings. I think it’s a honor to be invited, to be asked to be in the wedding party, and being asked to officiate Kristin’s wedding is one of the greatest experiences and best memories of my life.
10. This list was entirely more serious than I intended so here’s something weird - when I was in second grade, I traded Luden’s cough drops for Sanrio Hello Kitty stuff. That’s right, I was a 7-year-old drug dealer.
