Another TV-related rant
Right up there on the annoyance scale with people who are sanctimonious about how little tv they watch are people who brag about not having cable.
Oh, really? You can watch shows on Hulu, iTunes, or YouTube? How 21st Century of you! But seriously, that doesn’t tell me you’re an advanced techie; it tells me you’re cheap. Where’s the fun of TV if you can’t have a group...

Rachel Maddow is wearing a Snuggie and cooking a Hot Pocket.
I know I’m out of the country but.. why???
She was getting ready to stay up all night for the Republicans to filibuster financial reform. Kent even wheeled out a cot for her and delivered a pizza. FILIBUSTER SLUMBER PARTY!
Rachel Maddow = cooler than you. And you. And you. And me.

So as you may have noticed, I’ve left the country and therefore the internet for a little while. So far it’s been four exhausting days. But tonight! I got TWO HOURS of internet time in! (I’m seven hours ahead so it’s bedtime for this girl.) Oh the glory.
Hope I haven’t missed too much thus far! I’ll try to update more. :)
Always Go to the Funeral
katie-mac:
Always Go to the Funeral by Deirdre Sullivan (NPR: “This I believe” series)
I believe in always going to the funeral. My father taught me that.
The first time he said it directly to me, I was 16 and trying to get out of going to calling hours for Miss Emerson, my old fifth grade math teacher. I did not want to go. My father was unequivocal. “Dee,” he said, “you’re going. Always go...

Watching Party of Five...
Which is apparently relevant on foreign tv… I wonder if they think all Americans still dress like that.
Anyhow (five year old spoiler alert), I cannot believe they let Julia have an abortion on network tv!!!
Leaving... On a jet plane.
And my roommate insisted on carrying my (definitely overweight) bag down the four flights of stairs because she was certain I couldn’t carry it.
See ya in two weeks, New York!!!
carolinek:
Today, I am came to New York earlier then I needed to because I was asked to have lunch with Miss Lemon and Miss Mere.
I had so much fun. I talked way too much and also looked kind of tragic as I was just off a 4 hour train ride, but who cares… Among friends!
I am so happy to have these, and many more people in my life because of Tumblr.
Thanks for meeting up with me today, ladies....

Hoda: Ha, nope. Looks the same though.
